How a Solopreneur from a remote Indian village succeeded in SaaS - Feather.so ($10k MRR)

Today's story is very inspiring, and it can help you understand that no matter where you live or your standard of living, if you work for it, you can achieve it.

The case study is about Bhanu Teja (@pbteja1998), a 26-year-old guy living in a small village in India, who back in 2022 founded Feather.so, a platform that helps create a superfast blog using Notion as a CMS.

Then, he worked on his first product, MDX.one, a blogging platform built on Notion. It gained some initial traction with around 30 paying customers and 1,000 free users, but interest faded and hosting costs skyrocketed. Bhanu closed new signups and decided to rebuild from scratch.

During this time, he created useNotionCMS.com, an API-based product that turns Notion into a CMS. This became the backend for his new blogging platform, Feather. The new platform was quite different from MDX.one, so he launched it as a completely new product. After asking for name suggestions on Twitter, he chose "Feather," bought the domain and…

That’s how Feather was born…
